1 of 1
By concentrating solely on the vertical pump product line, Weir Floway has become a dominant force in today's highly diversified market.
Floway® firewater pumps
Vertical close-coupled single- or multi-stage turbines for a wide range of raw water, potable water and API duties.
Floway® vertical turbines — Models F, FR and VF — are vertical close-coupled, single- or multistage turbines with fabricated discharge heads. Featuring a closed suction pump with below ground suction, these pumps are available with enclosed or semi-open impellers, product lubricated lineshaft with threaded or flanged column.
Able to handle water, chemical solutions (acidic or alkaline) and hydrocarbons, these pumps are perfect for applications in co-generation, cooling towers, fueling service, fire pump (UL/FM), API 610, chemical plants, power plants, water treatment plants, steel mills, automotive paints, sump pumps and coolant systems.
Benefits
- Lower capital costs
- The vertical pump design provides space saving
- Low operating costs
- Weir Floway vertical pump design produces high pressures with premium efficiencies with low operating cost
- High reliability
- Low NPSH first stage construction is available to insure successful operation without cavitation problems
- Flexible Hydraulic Selection. Pressure and flow variations are achieved by changing the number of stages or impeller types
- The pump bowl assembly is characterised as low energy per stage resulting in a broad flow range with excellent hydraulic stability
- Lower through-life costs
- Long impeller life means reduced erosion with multi stage units verses a single stage unit which has a high impeller tip speed
- Stable operating characteristics with steep head curve provides excellent pressure sensor sensitivity
- Materials to suit the application: cast iron/bronze fitted (standard) and available in any machinable & weldable alloys
