Leading supplier of hose connectors and emergency release systems
MIB™ emergency release systems
The Emergency Release System (ERS) allows for the rapid disconnection of flexible riser(s) in the event of unplanned situations, excessive vessel excursion or other such occurrences.
First developed in 1974 for use on low pressure, low temperature and cryogenic dock installations, MIB's Emergency Release System (ERS) has subsequently been adopted by users world-wide to significantly enhance operational safety and environmental protection at their terminals.
In 1980, the ERS concept was extended to offshore applications, in particular for the protection of flexible risers on floating production and/or storage vessels.
Offshore installations are far more demanding on system components, requiring a higher pressure rating, special materials and higher external loading.
MIB has since built an impressive operational track record in both onshore and offshore applications.
Key features of ERS include:
- Quick and safe emergency release
- Integral ball valves
- 25 year design life
- High angular release
- Field-proven design
- Pressure up to 10,000 psi
- Sweet & sour service
- Minimal maintenance
- Built-in testing features
- ESD valving
