RACI™ check valves

The Venturi check valve is designed to have good performance against water hammering: its main characteristics are a very quick closure and a hydrostatic profile with low head loss. The valve is very practical because it can be installed in horizontal, vertical or battered position.

Venturi check valve

Key Features

  • Low head loss
  • Noiseless operation
  • Min. differential pressure on opening: 0.1 bar
  • Min. differential pressure on closing for perfect tightness: 0.5 bar

Two different models: from DN 40 to DN 250 PN 10-16-25 the valve is one block structure, from DN 250 PN 40 and upper the body is made from two pieces tightened by nuts and bolts in stainless steel. Body is made of cast or ductile iron, it depends from DN and PN. Shutter is made of ductile iron or stainless steel 18/8. Bushes made of bronze, gaskets in rubber.

Characteristics

  • Ductile iron one-piece body
  • Inner enamelling at 800°C or epoxy-type coating internally and externally, minimum thickness 250 micron, with high impact resistance and adhesion
  • Valve plug vulcanised rubber coating, with stainless steel retaining spring
  • Opening grade of valve is directly proportional to the flow passing through the valve
  • Min. differential pressure on closing for perfect tightness: 0.5 bar
  • Valve plug operation is only based on the compression of rubber against a brass seat on the cast iron body
  • Flange drilling to EN 1092-2 PN 10/16. Other standards available upon request
  • Overall length to DIN 3202, part I, F6
  • Maximum operating temperature: 70°C
  • Operating pressure: 16 bar
  • Test pressure: 24 bar

All metal, rubber, and coatings used have been designed for contact with water for human consumption, pursuant to the terms of Italian Health Ministry Decree no. 174 of 6/4/2004.

Model R combined check and on-off valve

Patented device: stopcock and check valve combined in one single solution to prevent any backflow of water into the main distribution system (in accordance with current Italian regulations on the protection of water against pollution).

Characteristics

  • More versatile than conventional water service components: reduced overall dimensions and costs.
  • Very low head loss (see chart on page 6).
  • The check valve will operate in the event of pressure reversal (with differential pressure = 30 cm of water column).
  • Can be used for hot water (up to 90°C).
  • Its design prevents scales, including in hard water areas.
  • Interchangeable with existing stopcocks not provided with check valve function.
  • Zero noise (the device is a fully open/fully closed design).
  • Can be installed either flat (not upside-down) or upright.
  • Ready for lead sealing.
  • Can be installed either upstream or downstream of the water meter.
  • Available in the following versions:
    1. standard - without drain valves [code RN.. (.. = DN)]
    2. with one drain valve upstream of the seal and one threaded plug on the opposite side (code RS0011..)
    3. with 2 threaded plugs upstream of the seal (code RS0002..)
    4. with one drain valve downstream of the seal and one threaded plug on the opposite side (code RS1100..)
    5. with 2 threaded plugs downstream of the seal (code RS0200..)
    6. with 2 drain valves (one upstream, one downstream of the seal) and 2 threaded plugs on the opposite side (code RS1111..)
    7. with 4 threaded plugs (2 upstream, 2 downstream of the seal) (code RS0202..)
    8. with one drain valve downstream of the seal and 3 threaded plugs (code RS1102..)
    9. with one drain valve upstream of the seal and 3 threaded plugs (code RS0211..)
